FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona is de belangrijkste voetbalclub van Catalunya. De club is opgericht in 1899 door een groep mensen onder de leidng vaN Joan Gamper. De club is een Catalaans instituut geworden onder het motto “Més que un club” (Méér dan een club). Het officiele clublied is  El Cant del Barça , decomponeerd doorby Josep Maria Espinàs.
FC Barcelona is een van de drie Spaanse clubs die nooit uit de hoogste divisie -  La Liga -  zijn verdwenen. Het is op een na de succesvolste club van Spanje. Het is ook van de succesvolste clubs van Europa met diverse UEFA bekers en Worldcups.

Unlike all other major football teams, FC Barcelona did not use to have a commercial sponsorship on their shirts. For the 2006/2007 season, they reached a five year agreement with UNICEF under which they donate almost $2 million per year, and thereby rejecting substantial amounts of money from potential sponsors.
